Bandung, West Java (ANTARA) - Perum Badan Urusan Logistik (Bulog)\nWest Java has ensured that rice availability is sufficient to meet the\nneeds of the community in the region until early 2027.<\/p>\n
The Deputy Regional Leader of Bulog West Java, Yuliani Alzam, stated\nthat as of today, the rice stocks held by Bulog West Java have reached\n640,000 tonnes, which is enough to meet public needs until January 20nt\n2027.<\/p>\n
\u201cWith the availability of 640,000 tonnes of stock in West Java, this\nwill be sufficient until 2027,\u201d Yuliani said in Bandung, West Java, on\nThursday.<\/p>\n
Yuliani ensured that Bulog West Java does not require rice imports at\nthis time because the existing reserve capacity is capable of supporting\nvarious government programmes, such as food assistance, disaster\nmanagement, and market interventions.<\/p>\n
In addition to maintaining stock availability, Bulog Bandung also\ncontinues to distribute SPHP rice through both traditional and modern\nmarkets in West Java to maintain price stability at the consumer\nlevel.<\/p>\n
Bulog is also collaborating with local governments to organise cheap\nrice market operations, where rice is sold in accordance with the\nmaximum retail price (HET).<\/p>\n
\u201cTherefore, the public does not need to engage in panic buying; there\nis no need for concern, because the stock is indeed very secure,\u201d she\nsaid.<\/p>\n
Furthermore, food assistance for 3.3 million residents of West Java\ncontinues to be distributed, with each recipient receiving 30 kilograms\nof rice for the July, August, and September 2026 allocations.<\/p>\n
Yuliani added that Bulog continues to strengthen logistics and\ndistribution management to ensure that rice supplies are distributed\nevenly to coastal and border areas.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are ensuring that all priority supply points remain secure, so\nthat both regional and national food security is maintained,\u201d she\nsaid.<\/p>\n
