Perum Bulog has recorded that the realisation of the Food Supply and\nPrice Stabilisation (SPHP) maize distribution has reached 159.3 thousand\ntonnes, or 66.05 per cent of the distribution target for 2026.<\/p>\n
The President Director of Perum Bulog, Ahmad Rizal Ramdhani, stated\nthat the company is continuing to strengthen the implementation of the\nSPHP maize programme as part of the government\u2019s efforts to maintain the\navailability and affordability of feed maize for national livestock\nfarmers.<\/p>\n
\u201cFrom the 2026 SPHP maize distribution target of 241,199,500\nkilograms, or approximately 241.2 thousand tonnes, the realisation of\npurchases by cooperatives (farmers) has reached 159,318,150 kilograms,\nor 159.3 thousand tonnes, equivalent to 66.05 per cent of the target,\u201d\nRizal said in Jakarta on Monday.<\/p>\n
According to him, this achievement indicates that SPHP maize\ncontinues to be utilised to support the feed requirements of livestock\nfarmers.<\/p>\n
With a recorded daily realisation of 259,650 kilograms, there remains\napproximately 81,881,350 kilograms, or 81.9 thousand tonnes, of the\nprogramme target that is being actively pushed towards completion.<\/p>\n
In line with the implementation of this programme, the government has\nreaffirmed its support for the livestock sector through a policy to\ndistribute 150,000 tonnes of SPHP feed maize until December 2026.<\/p>\n
This policy was one of the conclusions of the Limited Coordination\nMeeting (Rakortas) at the Coordinating Ministry for Food Affairs\nregarding the Management and Distribution of Government Food Reserves\nfor 2026, held on 7 September 2026 and led by the Coordinating Minister\nfor Food Affairs, Zulkifli Hasan.<\/p>\n
The meeting minutes stated that the additional distribution is\ndirected towards supporting the needs of medium-scale livestock farmers\nand MSMEs, particularly in anticipating potential declines in maize\nproduction due to dry season conditions.<\/p>\n
Rizal emphasised that his agency is ready to execute the government\u2019s\npolicy by ensuring stock readiness and strengthening coordination so\nthat feed maize can reach the intended farmers.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe SPHP maize realisation, which has reached over 66 per cent,\nshows that this programme is ongoing and being utilised by farmers,\u201d he\nsaid.<\/p>\n
Consequently, the availability of affordable feed maize is expected\nto help maintain the sustainability of livestock businesses while\nsupporting the stability of the food ecosystem from upstream to\ndownstream.<\/p>\n
Bulog will continue to coordinate with the National Food Agency\n(Bapanas), local governments, cooperatives, and relevant stakeholders to\nensure the SPHP maize implementation is effective and well-targeted.<\/p>\n
