Rice for the food assistance programme has been prepared and\npackaged, enabling it to be distributed as soon as possible.<\/p>\n
Jakarta (ANTARA) \u2013 State logistics company Perum Bulog is ready to\ndistribute a total of 30 kilograms (kg) of rice as food assistance for\nOctober to December 2026, and is now awaiting the distribution\norder.<\/p>\n
Bulog President Director Ahmad Rizal Ramdhani said the rice for the\nprogramme had been prepared and packaged, so it could be distributed\npromptly.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019d like to do it as soon as possible. We have already packaged it\nand put the rice into sacks, and it is ready to be distributed. The\ntotal is 996,000 tonnes,\u201d Rizal told reporters in Jakarta on\nThursday.<\/p>\n
The government has previously decided to continue providing food\nassistance of 10kg of rice per month from October to December 2026.<\/p>\n
The three months\u2019 assistance will be distributed in a single\ndelivery, meaning each beneficiary family (KPM) will receive a total of\n30kg of rice. The assistance is intended for 33,244,408 KPMs in deciles\n1 to 4.<\/p>\n
The government has allocated around Rp17.5 trillion for the food\nassistance as part of its fourth-quarter 2026 economic stimulus\npackage.<\/p>\n
Rizal explained that distribution would begin after the letter\nrecording the decision from a limited coordination meeting (rakortas)\nhad been processed through the State Secretariat and the Ministry of\nFinance for budgeting, and then sent to the National Food Agency\n(Bapanas), which would issue Bulog with the order.<\/p>\n
\u201cA rakortas is a decision-making meeting, so at this stage there is\nonly the meeting\u2019s decision. After that decision, the letter goes to the\nState Secretariat. From there, it is processed by the Ministry of\nFinance for budgeting,\u201d Rizal said.<\/p>\n
\u201cOnce the Ministry of Finance has released the budget, the letter\ngoes to Bapanas. Bapanas then gives me the order. But in principle, as\nsoon as the order is issued, I will carry out the task,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
As for availability, Rizal assured the public that Bulog\u2019s rice\nstocks remained sufficient.<\/p>\n
Bulog currently holds around 4.5 million tonnes of rice, while less\nthan 1 million tonnes will be needed to provide assistance to 33.2\nmillion beneficiaries over three months.<\/p>\n
