Perum Bulog has finalised 88 out of 100 planned sites for post-harvest infrastructure warehouses across Indonesia, with the remaining 12 locations pending. The construction will be tailored to regional typologies and agricultural commodities, such as advanced facilities in production centres like Grobogan and basic storage in remote areas like Natuna, including six silos each for rice paddy and corn. This initiative, pending approvals from key ministries, aims to enhance food security and storage capacity amid growing demands.

Director of Perum Bulog Ahmad Rizal Ramdhani stated that the company
has designated 88 out of a total planned 100 sites for post-harvest
infrastructure in the form of warehouses across Indonesia. “88 sites are
clear and clean, with only 12 districts/cities remaining,” Rizal said at
the Coordinating Ministry for Food office in Jakarta on Monday, 20 April
2026.

Rizal explained that the warehouse construction and its facilities
will be adjusted according to the regional typology. Warehouses in
production centres, such as in Grobogan, Central Java, will be equipped
with post-harvest facilities like dryers, rice milling units (RMU), and
packaging facilities.

He recounted that Grobogan currently has a rice/paddy warehouse, but
its capacity is full. Therefore, Bulog plans to build a new warehouse
along with its facilities in Grobogan. Meanwhile, in regions that are
not production centres or lack paddy fields, such as in Natuna, Riau
Islands, only warehouses will be built.

In addition to determining construction based on regional typology,
Rizal said the warehouses will be built according to the local
agricultural commodities. For example, in Bima, West Nusa Tenggara, a
corn warehouse will be built, including drying and shelling facilities.
From the total warehouse construction, Rizal said Bulog will build six
paddy silos and six corn silos.

Rizal has not yet confirmed when the construction will take place. He
said Bulog must obtain construction approval from the Coordinating
Ministry for Food, as well as technical considerations from the Ministry
of Agriculture and the Ministry of Public Works.
",
