Jakarta (ANTARA) - Perum Bulog\u2019s President Director Ahmad Rizal\nRamdhani stated that the total budget for absorbing rice paddy up to\nmaize feed, in accordance with the government\u2019s assignment, reaches\nRp68.6 trillion as support for strengthening national food security.<\/p>\n
\u201cTotal budget for absorbing rice paddy, then soybeans, and maize is\nRp68.6 trillion,\u201d Rizal said after the Meeting to Accelerate the\nRealisation of Funding for Rice Paddy Absorption Equivalent to Rice at\nBulog\u2019s Jakarta Office on Monday.<\/p>\n
Rizal explained that the budget is used to support the government\u2019s\nassignment in optimally absorbing domestic farmers\u2019 produce to maintain\nnational food supply stability without imports.<\/p>\n
On that occasion, Bulog also reported that rice absorption\nachievement up to 13 April 2026 has reached around 48.7 percent of the\ngovernment\u2019s target of 4 million tonnes.<\/p>\n
This achievement is equivalent to around 1.9 million tonnes of rice\nsuccessfully absorbed throughout the ongoing period from early 2026 to\nmid-April.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Bulog\u2019s rice stock is recorded at 4.727 million tonnes and\nis projected to exceed 5 million tonnes in the near future along with\nthe acceleration of rice paddy absorption from farmers.<\/p>\n
This absorption policy refers to Presidential Instruction (Inpres)\nNumber 4 of 2026 on the Procurement and Management of Domestic Rice\nPaddy\/Rice as well as the Distribution of Government Rice Reserves for\n2026-2029.<\/p>\n
In that policy, the government sets a 2026 target for rice paddy\nequivalent absorption of 4 million tonnes, an increase from the previous\nyear\u2019s target of 3 million tonnes. Bulog targets that this year\u2019s\nabsorption target can be achieved by the end of July.<\/p>\n
The government also sets a government purchase price (HPP) for rice\npaddy at Rp6,500 per kilogram (kg) to maintain price stability and\nimprove farmers\u2019 welfare across Indonesia.<\/p>\n
In addition to rice, Bulog also receives the assignment to absorb 1\nmillion tonnes of dry shelled maize to strengthen reserves of other\nstrategic commodities.<\/p>\n
This assignment is regulated in Presidential Instruction Number 3 of\n2026, which sets the maize purchase price at Rp5,500 per kilogram.<\/p>\n
In that regulation, the absorbed maize must meet harvest age criteria\nwith a moisture content of between 18 and 20 percent in accordance with\nthe quality standards set by the government.<\/p>\n
Bulog records that up to 5 April 2026, the realisation of dry shelled\nmaize procurement by the state-owned food company has reached 131,673\ntonnes as part of efforts to meet the national target.<\/p>\n
Rizal emphasised the government\u2019s commitment to keeping national food\navailability safe and stable, in line with Prabowo Subianto\u2019s directives\nin facing global geopolitical challenges.<\/p>\n
