        "content": "<p>Perum Bulog President Director Ahmad Rizal Ramdhani has revealed that\ngrain absorption from farmers has reached more than 3.2 million tonnes\nof rice equivalent as of 13 July 2026, marking the highest achievement\nto strengthen the government\u2019s rice reserve (CBP). He explained that the\nabsorption realisation had reached 83.2 percent of the national target\nof four million tonnes of rice equivalent set by the government for the\nwhole of 2026. \u201cAlhamdulillah, rice absorption as of today has reached\n83.2 percent of the 4 million tonne target. That means from 4 million\ntonnes, the achievement is 83 percent. So it has reached 3.2 million\ntonnes,\u201d said Rizal after a Coordination Meeting on the Preparation for\nPremium Government Rice Reserve Processing in Jakarta on Monday.\nAccording to him, this achievement is a significant milestone because it\nhas surpassed the absorption realisation throughout 2025, which only\nreached around 3.1 million tonnes of rice equivalent over a full year.\nHe assessed that the success in exceeding the previous year\u2019s\nachievement by mid-July demonstrates the effectiveness of the grain\nabsorption strategy as well as high production and farmer participation\nin supporting national food reserves. In addition to the increasing\nabsorption, Rizal said the rice stock controlled by Bulog has now\nreached approximately 5.4 million tonnes, thereby strengthening the\navailability of the government\u2019s rice reserve. Of the total stock,\naround two million tonnes will be processed into Beras Kita Premium and\nBeras Kita Medium to support the food commodity price stabilisation\nprogramme for the public. This processing will simultaneously reduce the\nrice stock in Bulog warehouses from around 5.4 million tonnes to\napproximately 3.4 million tonnes, ensuring optimal storage capacity.\nNevertheless, Rizal noted that several regions have recorded 100 percent\nabsorption achievement against their respective regional targets,\nincluding East Java, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), South Sulawesi, and\nseveral other regencies\/cities. He cited East Java, which had an\nabsorption target of around 970,000 tonnes of rice equivalent, as having\nfully met that target by 13 July 2026. According to Rizal, the success\nof several regions in reaching their targets more quickly opens up the\npossibility of absorption realisation exceeding the target by the end of\nthe year, as the harvest season is still ongoing. He affirmed that this\nachievement was inseparable from the support of various parties and rice\nmilling partners who assist in the grain absorption and rice processing\nthrough a contract manufacturing scheme. He is optimistic that the\nsuccess of grain absorption, the distribution of the Food Supply and\nPrice Stabilisation programme, and food aid will continue to improve in\nline with the synergy between the government, Bulog, and business\nactors.<\/p>",
