Jayapura, Papua (ANTARA) - Perum Bulog President Director Ahmad Rizal\nRamdhani has affirmed the agency\u2019s commitment to providing the best\nservice by distributing high-quality rice to meet the food needs of the\nentire Papuan community.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere is no need for hesitation or doubt; the stock we provide to\nthe community is definitely in good, healthy, hygienic, and beneficial\ncondition,\u201d Rizal said when met in Jayapura City, Papua, on Monday.<\/p>\n
He made this statement after conducting quality tests on incoming\nrice stocks at the Bulog warehouse in the Argapura Warehousing Complex,\nJayapura. While at the warehouse, Rizal instructed his local staff to\nre-weigh the stock to ascertain the volume of each incoming sack of rice\nand directly witnessed moisture content testing.<\/p>\n
This strategic step was taken to ensure that the food commodities\ndistributed to the people of Bumi Cendrawasih are in the best,\nhealthiest, and most hygienic condition. Rizal observed the sampling\nprocess of rice that had just been unloaded from a transport truck.\nTogether with the board of directors, a white funnel-shaped container\nfilled with rice was presented for a visual assessment of its\nquality.<\/p>\n
Rizal even directly tested the rice quality using the provided\nequipment. He ensured that the percentage of broken grains did not\nexceed the specified threshold and that the broken kernels remained\nwithin limits.<\/p>\n
Through strict supervision, Bulog is not only focusing on the\nquantity of stock, which is planned to triple in Papua, but also on\nmaintaining consistency in taste and the physical quality of the rice\nwhen it reaches the public\u2019s plates. Bulog is committed to providing the\nbest food logistics services through the distribution of rice, corn, and\nother commodities, paying close attention to the quality of products\nreceived by the community, in line with the directives of President\nPrabowo Subianto.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn accordance with the directives of the President and the Minister\nof Agriculture (Andi Amran Sulaiman), Bulog must be the best servant for\nthe community, especially in the logistics sector,\u201d Rizal stressed.<\/p>\n
Rizal also encouraged all Bulog personnel in Papua to continue\nimproving their performance so that food distribution services are fast,\nwell-targeted, and meet the community\u2019s needs. Bulog also assured the\npublic that there is no need to worry about rice availability, as the\nnational food reserve is in a sufficient condition to meet demand.<\/p>\n
The rice supply to Papua is strengthened through a stock transfer\nmechanism from national production centres, such as South Sulawesi and\nEast Java. These two provinces were chosen because they have high rice\nproduction and distribution access that supports smooth delivery to the\nPapua region.<\/p>\n
Bulog emphasised that it will continue to maintain service quality\nand food supply so that the needs of the Papuan community are met\nsafely, with quality, and sustainably throughout the year. \u201cAnd we are\ncommitted and encourage all Bulog personnel to provide the best quality\nservice and distribution of rice, corn, and so on, so as not to\ndisappoint the community,\u201d Rizal said.<\/p>\n
Bulog noted that the current rice stock across Papua stands at\napproximately 17,000 tonnes, spread across various warehouses to meet\nthe needs of the local community. The stock will be strengthened\nthreefold to reach 50,000 tonnes. Specifically for the Argapura\nWarehouse in Jayapura, Bulog recorded available rice stock at around 985\ntonnes.
