Jakarta (ANTARA) - Perum Bulog, together with ID FOOD, distributed\n100,000 free basic food packages to residents of DKI Jakarta through a\nbazaar in the National Monument (Monas) area as support for the \u201cBazaar\nfrom the Palace for the People\u201d programme.<\/p>\n
\u201cAll of it is released to the public for free. So the coupons are\nfree. They are handed over and given for free by the government to the\npublic,\u201d said the President Director of Perum Bulog, Ahmad Rizal\nRamdhani, when met on the sidelines of the bazaar event in Jakarta on\nSaturday.<\/p>\n
He stated that the activity is a tangible manifestation of the\nstate\u2019s presence in maintaining food stability and assisting the\npublic.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe \u2018Bazaar from the Palace for the People\u2019 programme is part of our\ncommitment to ensure that the public can obtain staple food items with\ngood quality,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
The bazaar event lasted for six hours, from 3:00 p.m. WIB to 9:00\np.m. WIB, with 100,000 participants from all administrative city areas\nin the Province of DKI Jakarta.<\/p>\n
In its implementation, five tents consisting of 20 stalls each, or a\ntotal of 100 stalls, were prepared to serve the public, with an estimate\nthat each stall could serve around 1,000 bazaar participants.<\/p>\n
The basic food package provided by the government in the programme\nconsists of 5 kg of rice, 1 kg of granulated sugar, 1 litre of cooking\noil, one chicken, 1 kg of chicken eggs, and one can of sardines.<\/p>\n
In addition, each city area received an allocation of 20,000 basic\nfood packages to ensure equitable access for the public.<\/p>\n
Bulog and ID FOOD ensured that the 100,000 basic food packages were\ndistributed properly, on target, and on time, especially in the post-Eid\nal-Fitr 1447 Hijriah period.<\/p>\n
Furthermore, Rizal said that in the \u201cBazaar from the Palace for the\nPeople\u201d programme, the public received basic food packages worth\napproximately Rp300,000 for free without needing to pay.<\/p>\n
Through this activity, Bulog and ID FOOD continue to strengthen their\nrole in supporting the stabilisation of national food supply and prices\nas well as providing ease of access for the public.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo, besides the basic food packages, the public also received\nseveral non-basic food prize draws in the form of bicycles and electric\nmotorbikes up to school uniform accessories prepared by the government,\u201d\nadded Rizal.<\/p>\n
Naufal Panigoro, a resident of Pejaten Timur Ward, Pasar Minggu\nSubdistrict, South Jakarta, said he was very grateful to receive the\nbasic food aid package.<\/p>\n
\u201cWith this assistance, residents, especially in DKI Jakarta, are\nhelped. Especially for those of us who are less fortunate, hopefully in\nthe future and it should be that there will be programmes like this,\u201d\nsaid Naufal.<\/p>\n
Naufal\u2019s happiness increased after receiving an electric motorbike\nprize. He had been queuing since 2:00 p.m. WIB and successfully received\nthe aid around 3:30 p.m. WIB.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m so happy because I wanted to buy an electric motorbike before.\nAlhamdulillah, it\u2019s sustenance,\u201d said Naufal.<\/p>\n
Asri, a resident of Cipete Selatan Ward, Cilandak Subdistrict, South\nJakarta, said she was grateful to receive government basic food\nassistance.<\/p>\n
She assessed that the aid was very helpful in meeting daily needs,\nespecially amid economic conditions that are still challenging for the\npublic.<\/p>\n
