        "content": "<p>Buleleng, Bali - Residents of Penarukan Village, Singaraja, Bali,\nalongside Sungai Watch Station Buleleng, conducted a river clean-up\ndrive along the Jalan Setiabudi River Basin (DAS) in Satria\nneighbourhood as part of environmental awareness efforts for Pancasila\nFoundation Day.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe community clean-up collected over 187 kilograms of inorganic\nwaste from the river and surrounding areas,\u201d said Penarukan Village Head\nDesak Made Susanti in Buleleng, Bali, on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>She added that the initiative was not only a physical clean-up but\nalso an educational opportunity for residents to avoid littering on\nPancasila Foundation Day.<\/p>\n<p>She explained that collaboration with Sungai Watch and the Yeh Taluh\nSubak Community represented a tangible commitment to environmental\ncare.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe hope this community effort raises awareness among Penarukan\nresidents to stop littering. We thank the Sungai Watch team for their\ndedication and participation,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>She stated that the Penarukan Village Government would continue\ninvolving traditional villages (desa adat), banjar, the Subak Community,\nand residents in environmental cleanliness education programs.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe will also install banners as per government instructions and\ncollaborate with the traditional village to set up CCTV to monitor river\ncleanliness,\u201d Susanti said.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Sungai Watch Buleleng Station Manager I Gede Duta Dharma\nexplained that Sungai Watch operates two types of clean-up actions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFirst, installing nets and regular patrols. Second, clean-up\noperations like the one conducted this Monday morning,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>In Penarukan Village, Sungai Watch has installed two nets, which\ncollect an average of 20 kilograms of waste daily.<\/p>\n<p>The nets help keep irrigation channels and subak (traditional water\nmanagement systems) clean and free from waste.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are ready to discuss further with the Subak Community if\nadditional waste nets are needed,\u201d Duta Dharma said.<\/p>\n<p>He urged residents to manage waste responsibly. Organic waste can be\ncomposted, while inorganic waste should be handled through village or\nsub-district waste collection services.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf there are provincial or regional regulations on waste management\nin Bali, please comply to ensure a cleaner environment,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>He also expressed readiness to assist waste management programs,\nparticularly clean-up drives and community efforts, acknowledging that\nsome residents still litter.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs long as there is waste to clear, we\u2019re ready to help,\u201d Duta\nDharma concluded.<\/p>",
