        "content": "<p>Bugging at French, German EU offices<\/p>\n<p>BELGIUM: Telephone tapping systems have been found at offices<br>\nused by France and Germany in the building where European Union<br>\nleaders are due to hold a summit from Thursday, an EU spokesman<br>\nsaid on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>He said other delegations were also affected at the EU Council<br>\nJustus Lipsius building and it was not known who was behind the<br>\nespionage.<\/p>\n<p>The French newspaper Le Figaro accused the United States of<br>\nbeing behind the wiretapping, but Dominique-Georges Marro, head<br>\nof the EU Council press service said: \"We do not know who is<br>\nbehind it. I don't know who was on the other end of the line.\"<\/p>\n<p>Asked whether the bugging only affected France and Germany, he<br>\nsaid: \"It is a bit more vast, but it's not a deluge.\"<\/p>\n<p>The Belgian security authorities have not been involved,<br>\nofficials said. --Reuters<\/p>",
