Buddhist Temple's 77th anniversary<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): Amurvabhumi Buddhist Temple on Jl. Dr. Satrio in
\nSouth Jakarta collected rice Thursday in conjunction with the
\ncommemoration of its 77th anniversary.<\/p>\n
The collection resulted in one ton of rice, 30 cartons of
\nnoodles and 200 liters of cooking oil being donated. The food was
\ngiven to Mandiri Karsa 02, a social institution owned by the City
\nSocial Service Office in Pondok Bambu, East Jakarta, Antara
\nreported.<\/p>\n
The donation was given by Amurvabhumi Temple Foundation head
\nHendako Soedjito to Mandiri Karsa 02 chief H.M. Ali Adi, and was
\nwitnessed by Indonesian Buddhist Conference head Oka Diputhera,
\nand a representative of the Ministry of Religious Affairs,
\nDasikin.<\/p>\n
Diputhera said at the ceremony that Buddhists in Indonesia,
\nespecially those living in the Karet area of the Setia Budi
\ndistrict, thanked the government for allowing the temple to
\nexist.<\/p>\n
Dasikin underlined the importance of Buddhist followers
\nsafeguarding the religious harmony among themselves, with other
