Jakarta - PT Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) Tbk (BTN) has committed\nto serving as a primary strategic partner for the North Maluku\nProvincial Government in driving rapid economic growth, digitising\npublic services, and improving community welfare.<\/p>\n
North Maluku\u2019s economic growth in the first quarter of 2026 was\nrecorded at 19.64 per cent year-on-year (yoy), far above the national\naverage, according to data from Statistics Indonesia (BPS). This growth\nwas primarily driven by the processing industry sector, which surged by\n37.09 per cent, alongside a 17.57 per cent increase in investment or\nGross Fixed Capital Formation (PMTB).<\/p>\n
\u201cNorth Maluku is a locomotive for national economic growth. The 19.64\nper cent growth in the first quarter of 2026 and the record 34.17 per\ncent growth in 2025 prove that this region has extraordinary potential\nthrough downstream industries, mining, fisheries, and tourism,\u201d said BTN\nPresident Director Nixon LP Napitupulu in a statement received in\nJakarta on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
In 2025, North Maluku recorded the highest economic growth in\nIndonesia at 34.17 per cent, with a Gross Regional Domestic Product\n(GRDP) at current prices of Rp133.6 trillion and a per capita GRDP of\napproximately Rp97 million. This momentum is supported by the region\u2019s\nwealth of potential, including nickel downstreaming, gold and copper\nmining, fisheries, spice plantations, marine tourism, and renewable\nenergy, positioning North Maluku as the main engine of economic growth\nin Eastern Indonesia.<\/p>\n
Given the high speed of economic growth, Nixon noted that BTN views\nthe needs of the community and government for financial services as\nhaving shifted. The company is present not merely as a depository\ninstitution, but as a development partner ready to assist with\ngovernment financial digitalisation, support public services, and\nstrengthen the regional economic ecosystem.<\/p>\n
Nixon also expressed appreciation and gratitude for the trust placed\nby the North Maluku Provincial Government in depositing funds with BTN.\nThis fundamental trust serves as a strong foundation for expanding\nfuture cooperation.<\/p>\n
As a tangible demonstration of its social and environmental\nresponsibility (TJSL), BTN also handed over assistance allocated for the\nconstruction of 32 liveable houses in the Sidangoli area, South Jailolo\nDistrict, West Halmahera Regency (Domato region).<\/p>\n
North Maluku Governor Sherly Tjoanda welcomed and expressed her\nhighest appreciation to the BTN President Director and staff for the\nTJSL assistance. She stated that a safe and liveable home is the most\nessential foundation for building a strong national civilisation,\nstarting from the smallest social unit: the family.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo that children can live in a safe, peaceful living space, grow up\nwith a good education, and form a superior future generation.
