Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Domestic Policy Strategy Agency (BSKDN) of the\nMinistry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) has invited the Central Java\n(Jateng) Provincial Government to strengthen regional innovation. This\nstrengthening will be achieved through the preparation of policy briefs\nas a strategic instrument in developing evidence-based policies.<\/p>\n
\u201cWith the support of policy briefs, innovation will no longer be\nlimited to sectoral programs but can develop into a strategic policy\ninstrument that leads to more adaptive and progressive governance to\nsupport the formation of public policies in the region,\u201d said Head of\nBSKDN, Yusharto Huntoyungo, in a statement in Jakarta on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
This was conveyed during a virtual meeting with the Regional Research\nand Innovation Agency (BRIDA) of the Central Java Province from the\nBSKDN Building, Jakarta.<\/p>\n
In his presentation, Yusharto emphasized that regional innovation\nneeds to be transformed into sustainable public policies integrated into\ngovernance.<\/p>\n
Therefore, an analytical instrument is needed to legitimize\ninventions so that they can be implemented as innovative solutions with\na real impact.<\/p>\n
Furthermore, he explained that innovation is an invention used to\nanswer actual problems, both current conditions and future\nchallenges.<\/p>\n
However, to ensure that this innovation does not stop as a mere good\npractice, a policy brief is needed as a basis for policy analysis that\nensures the solution is viable, measurable, and sustainable.<\/p>\n
\u201cInnovation is an invention used to solve problems or become a\nsolution to problems that are currently being felt, not in the past, and\nalso possibly to be responsive to the future,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
In addition, he explained that policy briefs serve as a bridge\nbetween invention and innovation, while also ensuring that policies\ntaken are not merely based on intuition or short-term interests, but on\nscientific evidence, empirical data, and proven best practices.<\/p>\n
With this approach, the risk of policy failure can be reduced, and\nthe use of resources can be optimized.<\/p>\n
On the other hand, Yusharto emphasized the important role of BRIDA as\nan institution that has the mandate to strengthen research and\ndevelopment functions in the region.<\/p>\n
According to him, BRIDA needs to be the driving force in integrating\nresearch and development functions, improving the management of research\nand innovation, and ensuring that every innovation has strong policy\nanalysis support.<\/p>\n
On this occasion, he also linked the strengthening of regional\ninnovation with the national agenda towards Golden Indonesia 2045.<\/p>\n
Yusharto said that Indonesia\u2019s achievements in terms of\ncompetitiveness and innovation at the global level require faster and\nmore structured work from all levels of government.<\/p>\n
\u201cTo remain in the same position, we must run faster.
