The Badan Strategi Kebijakan Dalam Negeri (BSKDN) of the Ministry of\nHome Affairs (Kemendagri) has invited the Central Java (Jateng)\nProvincial Government to strengthen regional innovation through the\npreparation of policy briefs as a strategic instrument in building\nevidence-based policy. This invitation was conveyed by the Head of\nBSKDN, Yusharto Huntoyungo, during a virtual meeting with the Badan\nRiset dan Inovasi Daerah (BRIDA) of Central Java Province from the BSKDN\nOffice (February 25).<\/p>\n
Yusharto emphasized that regional innovation needs to be transformed\ninto sustainable public policies and integrated into governance.\nTherefore, an analytical instrument is needed to legitimize inventions\nso that they can be implemented as innovative and impactful\nsolutions.<\/p>\n
According to him, innovation is an invention used to answer actual\nproblems, both current conditions and future challenges. However, to\nensure that this innovation does not merely remain a good practice, a\npolicy brief is needed as a basis for policy analysis that ensures the\nsolution is feasible, measurable, and sustainable.<\/p>\n
\u201cInnovation is an invention used to solve problems or become a\nsolution to problems that are currently being felt, not in the past, and\nalso possibly to be responsive to the future,\u201d said Yusharto.<\/p>\n
In addition, he explained that a policy brief serves as a bridge\nbetween invention and innovation, while also ensuring that the policies\ntaken are not merely based on intuition or short-term interests, but on\nscientific evidence, empirical data, and proven best practices. With\nthis approach, the risk of policy failure can be reduced and the use of\nresources can be optimized.<\/p>\n
On the other hand, Yusharto emphasized the important role of BRIDA as\nan institution that has the mandate to strengthen research and\ndevelopment functions in the region. According to him, BRIDA needs to be\nthe driving force in integrating research and development functions,\nimproving the management of research and innovation, and ensuring that\nevery innovation has strong policy analysis support.<\/p>\n
\u201cWith the support of policy briefs, innovation will no longer be\nlimited to sectoral programs but can develop into a strategic policy\ninstrument that leads to more adaptive and progressive governance to\nsupport the formation of public policies in the region,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
On this occasion, he also linked the strengthening of regional\ninnovation with the national agenda towards Golden Indonesia 2045. He\nsaid that Indonesia\u2019s achievements in competitiveness and innovation at\nthe global level require faster and more structured work from all levels\nof government.<\/p>\n
\u201cTo remain in the same position, we must run faster. In the context\nof government innovation, this means that we must continue to innovate,\nstrengthen governance, and ensure that every innovation has a strong\npolicy basis,\u201d he concluded. (M-3)<\/p>\n
This achievement also marks Central Java as the region with the\nsecond-highest labor absorption rate on the island of Java.<\/p>\n
The gap in access to medical services between urban and rural areas\nmust be addressed immediately through proactive outreach services.<\/p>\n
