        "content": "<p>PT Bank Syariah Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BSI) has channelled\ncorporate and employee zakat amounting to Rp289 billion to the National\nZakat Agency (Baznas) of Indonesia. The total zakat funds contributed by\nBSI in 2025 rose 7.77% year-on-year (yoy), reinforcing the consistent\nupward trend in BSI\u2019s zakat contributions in line with the growth of the\ncompany\u2019s business performance.<\/p>\n<p>Cumulatively, since its establishment in 2021 up to 2025, the total\nzakat channelled by BSI has reached Rp1.07 trillion.<\/p>\n<p>BSI\u2019s zakat since its founding has served as a catalyst for driving\nthe community\u2019s economy, particularly from the perspective of\nbeneficiaries. In 2025, from the 2024 corporate zakat funds of Rp268.6\nbillion, BSI reached more than 1.2 million beneficiaries through over 40\nprogrammes in the economic, education, health, humanitarian, as well as\nda\u2019wah and advocacy sectors.<\/p>\n<p>The official handover of the zakat, consisting of Rp250.3 billion in\ncorporate zakat and Rp39.5 billion in employee zakat, was conducted by\nBSI President Director Anggoro Eko Cahyo to Baznas RI Chairman Sodik\nMudjahid in Jakarta on Wednesday, 1 April 2026, witnessed by Baznas and\nBSI executives.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe position our zakat as a strategic instrument to strengthen the\ncommunity\u2019s economy and promote equitable welfare,\u201d stated BSI President\nDirector Anggoro Eko Cahyo in an official statement on Wednesday\n(1\/4).<\/p>\n<p>For economic strengthening distribution, BSI collaborates with Baznas\nRI and BSI Maslahat through mustahik empowerment programmes, channelling\nfunds among others in the form of the BSI 77 Villages economic programme\nincluding BSI UMKM Centres across Indonesia, and the BSI Scholarship\neducation programme for school and university students with a total of\nmore than 10,000 student and university student recipients, the Qur\u2019an\nHouse programme, and others.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, Anggoro also revealed that as a financial, social, and\nspiritual companion, BSI provides ease of ZISWAF payments for the public\nthrough offline channels (1,130 BSI branches) as well as e-channels via\nATMs, QRIS, BYOND by BSI, BSI Mobile, and Scheduled Transaction\nfeatures, or through transfers from other banks. There is also a special\nprogramme such as wakaf for hospitals and schools that can be accessed\nby BSI customers via the BYOND by BSI application, where the programme\ncollaborates with trusted nazhir.<\/p>\n<p>The amount of donations collected through various BSI payment\nchannels in 2025 reached Rp236 billion with a total of 10.5 million\ntransactions. \u201cWe see that the 2026 ZISWAF collection trend per month is\nhigher compared to 2025. And as a bank, we are quite proud.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In addition to social contributions, BSI continues to strengthen its\nrole in national economic development through various strategic\ninitiatives, including financing for the real sector and UMKM, support\nfor government priority programmes, and the development of an inclusive\nsharia financial ecosystem.<\/p>\n<p>Going forward, BSI is committed to continuously expanding its social\nimpact through the optimisation of ZISWAF collection and channelling,\nincluding through the strengthening of digital services such as the\nBYOND by BSI superapp. Through the Sharing feature, the public can\neasily channel zakat, infak, wakaf, and donations, which are currently\nintegrated with 49 official Zakat Amil Institutions (LAZ) in\nIndonesia.<\/p>",
