        "content": "<p>PT Bank Syariah Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BRIS) is preparing\ncross-border Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard (QRIS) services in\nSaudi Arabia.<\/p>\n<p>BSI\u2019s Director of Sales &amp; Distribution, Anton Sukarna, stated\nthat this step aligns with the state-owned sharia bank\u2019s strategy to\nexpand abroad.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCurrently, we are developing the use of QRIS in Saudi Arabia in line\nwith BSI\u2019s overseas expansion strategy and enhancing services for BSI\ncustomers in Saudi Arabia,\u201d he said during the virtual Press Conference\non BSI\u2019s First Quarter 2026 Performance on Tuesday (12\/5\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>Anton explained that the development of QRIS in Saudi Arabia is also\naimed at improving services for Hajj and Umrah customers. At the same\ntime, this effort is expected to drive digital transactions at BSI.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis initiative is part of the company\u2019s commitment to strengthening\ninclusive and relevant digital services that meet community needs and\nsupport sustainable digital transaction growth,\u201d Anton emphasised.<\/p>\n<p>He detailed that BSI\u2019s QRIS is currently usable in six countries,\nnamely Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Japan, South Korea, and China.<\/p>\n<p>On the same occasion, Anton outlined that BSI\u2019s QRIS merchants have\nreached 574,000, with 24.2 million transactions and a volume of IDR 1.7\ntrillion.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the BYOND by BSI super app has garnered 6.55 million users\nsince its launch in November 2024, with 199 million transactions and a\nvolume of IDR 223 trillion.<\/p>",
