Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia \u2014 PT Bank Syariah Indonesia (Persero) Tbk.\n(BRIS) has agreed to make changes to its board of commissioners. This\ndecision was approved at the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders\n(AGM) held today, Tuesday (5 May 2026).<\/p>\n
The Indonesian state-owned sharia bank has decided to appoint Sigit\nPramono as commissioner and Muhammad Cholil Nafis, Deputy Chairman of\nthe Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI), as independent commissioner.<\/p>\n
Sigit replaces Meidy Firmansyah, while Cholil replaces Muhammad\nSyafii Antonio.<\/p>\n
For context, this agenda for changes in management was an additional\nitem announced alongside the rescheduling of the AGM. It was originally\nset for 17 April 2026.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Shareholders\u2019 Meeting decision regarding the appointment and\ndismissal of members of the Company\u2019s Board of Commissioners also\ndetermines the effective date of such appointment and dismissal. If the\nShareholders\u2019 Meeting does not specify, the appointment and dismissal of\nmembers of the Board of Commissioners shall take effect from the closing\nof the Shareholders\u2019 Meeting,\u201d BSI management stated in a disclosure of\ninformation.<\/p>\n
Members of the Company\u2019s Board of Commissioners are appointed for a\nterm beginning from the date determined by the Shareholders\u2019 Meeting\nthat appoints them and ending at the closing of the fifth Annual\nShareholders\u2019 Meeting following the date of their appointment.<\/p>\n
Both individuals will become effective after passing the fitness and\npropriety test from the Financial Services Authority.<\/p>\n
