Broadway show by RP artists<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): Repertory Philippines, a theater group from the
\nPhilippines, will present a lively musical revue of the most
\npopular songs from Broadway tonight and tomorrow.<\/p>\n
In the 75-minute performance of Broadway Showstoppers, eight
\nsingers from the group will give life to several hit songs such
\nas Music on the Night and All I Ask of You (Phantom of the
\nOpera), Solo Saxophone and Sun and Moon (Miss Saigon), On my Own,
\nWhy God, and Stars (Les Miserables) and several from Evita,
\nStarlight Express and Joseph the Dreamer.<\/p>\n
Repertory Philippines, which just completed its tour of major
\nEuropean capitals, has been widely credited for the development
\nof Filipino theater talent since its beginning more than thirty
\nyears ago. It is best known for its local productions of highly
\npopular Broadway plays such as Evita, West Side Story, Camelot,
\nThe Sound of Music, The King and I, Chorus Line, Annie, Les
\nMiserables and My Fair Lady.<\/p>\n
The shows are being organized under the auspices of the
\nPhilippine Embassy cultural exchange program, the Setia Kawan
\nFoundation and the Philippine Women's Association of Jakarta.
