        "content": "<p>Broadcasting bill<\/p>\n<p>From Media Indonesia<\/p>\n<p>A law to regulate broadcasting is at present being debated in<br>\nthe House of Representatives. I suggest that the draft be made<br>\npublic by the print media so that it can be discussed by our<br>\nintellectuals outside the legislature. Although intellectuals in<br>\nJakarta have already been invited to offer their opinions, our<br>\ncountry is so big that the opinions of those outside Jakarta is<br>\nwarranted to make sure that the coming law will have weight and<br>\nwill be capable of anticipating national and global developments.<br>\nThe opinions of those intellectuals should be made public by the<br>\nmedia.<\/p>\n<p>I am making this suggestion because the law and its subsequent<br>\nsubordinate regulations will be one of the models that reveal our<br>\nimplementation of Pancasila Democracy. It would in fact be<br>\nadvisable that draft laws of any kind be made public so that<br>\nintellectuals in Jakarta (without a formal request from the House<br>\nof Representatives) and those living elsewhere can offer their<br>\nideas to improve laws that will be valid throughout Indonesia.<\/p>\n<p>J.
