The Ngurah Rai Immigration Office in Bali arrested a British national\nwith the initials SL (45) at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport on\nSaturday (28\/3).<\/p>\n
Head of the Ngurah Rai Immigration Office, Bugie Kurniawan, stated\nthat officers secured SL during the immigration inspection process upon\nhis arrival from Singapore, around 12:40 WITA.<\/p>\n
Bugie said the British national is suspected of controlling a\ncriminal group in operations involving the management of fictitious\ncompanies as well as money laundering crimes.<\/p>\n
\u201cAfter the system detected him as an Interpol red notice subject.\nBased on intelligence data and coordination, the individual is suspected\nof being the leader of an international criminal organisation,\u201d Bugie\nsaid in a written statement.<\/p>\n
Bugie also issued a warning to transnational crime syndicates that\nthere is no safe hiding place for international fugitives in Bali.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe emphasise that Bali will never be a safe hiding place for\ninternational fugitives. The success of SL\u2019s arrest is concrete evidence\nof the sharpness of instinct and high experience of our officers and\nlanding officials at the Ngurah Rai Airport Immigration Check Point,\u201d he\nsaid.<\/p>\n
Bugie conveyed that this interception success demonstrates that the\nearly warning system and solid coordination between Immigration and the\ninternational law enforcement network are operating very\neffectively.<\/p>\n
He assured that fugitives in serious crime cases will not be able to\nfreely enter Indonesian territory.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur system is well integrated, and our officers are highly\nexperienced in detecting and securing Interpol wanted persons,\u201d he\nsaid.<\/p>\n
Bugie stated that the British national was then handed over to the I\nGusti Ngurah Rai Airport Police Resort for further legal\nproceedings.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Ngurah Rai Immigration Office will continue to actively\ncoordinate with Interpol and other related agencies to maintain national\nsecurity and order from cross-border criminal threats,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the Head of the Bali Regional Office of the Directorate\nGeneral of Immigration, Felucia Sengky Ratna, said that the arrest of\nthis international fugitive proves that immigration supervision is\noperating effectively.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe give high appreciation for the performance of the Ngurah Rai\nImmigration Office in securing the international fugitive. This success\nshows that the immigration supervision system in the Bali region is\noperating effectively, integrated, and responsive to cross-border\nthreats,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
Felucia emphasised that all work units under the Bali Immigration\nRegional Office will continue to strengthen coordination, increase\nvigilance, and optimise the use of technology and international\ncooperation.<\/p>\n
