British envoy thanks RI and its people<\/p>\n
JAKARTA: British Ambassador to Indonesia Charles Humfrey thanked
\nIndonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, his government and
\nthe people of Indonesia for their expressions of sympathy and
\ncondolences over the London bombings, the British Embassy said in
\na statement.<\/p>\n
"The Indonesian government, along with G-8 (Group of Eight
\nnations), UN Security Council and governments all around the
\nworld have joined in condemning these barbaric attacks. All our
\nthoughts are with the victims and their families," Ambassador
\nHumfrey said in the statement, which was sent to The Jakarta
\nPost.<\/p>\n
He said residents of London had reacted to the attacks with
\nstoicism and resilience. Community leaders in Britain, including
\nthe main religious leaders, have been united in their
\ncondemnations of the attacks. The Muslim Council of Britain have
\nissued a statement expressing "utter condemnation of the
\nperpetrators".<\/p>\n
"We in Britain will not allow the atrocities to create tension
\nbetween our communities. We will not be divided and our resolve
\nwill hold firm ... We will not allow ourselves to be terrorized,"
