British envoy lauds OBE recipients<\/p>\n
JAPAN: British Ambassador to Indonesia Charles Humfrey has
\ncongratulated two Jakarta-based British citizens for their
\nselection to receive OBE awards from Queen Elizabeth II, the
\nBritish Embassy in Jakarta said in a statement.<\/p>\n
Ambassador Humfrey congratulated Philip Townsend, a member of
\nthe British Chambers of Commerce (BritCham) in Jakarta, and
\nStephen Woodhouse from United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF)
\nduring a reception to celebrate the Queen's Birthday held at the
\nambassador's residence.<\/p>\n
The Queen's office announced on June 12 that both Townsend and
\nWoodhouse would receive their OBEs very soon for their services
\nin Indonesia.<\/p>\n
"These awards went to Mr. Philip Townsend for services to
\nBritish education in Indonesia and to Mr. Stephen Woodhouse for
\nservices to UNICEF," the statement, which was sent to The Jakarta
\nPost on Thursday, said.<\/p>\n
Humfrey said that "the awards were due recognition of the
\nsocially valuable work they had done respectively in the areas
