British Council hosts video contest<\/p>\n
JAKARTA: The British Council, Jakarta, will hold a video
\ncompetition for Indonesian senior high school students, with a
\ntwo-week trip to the UK as the prize for two winners, a Council
\nspokesman announced.<\/p>\n
\"The videos, which should be made in English, will be selected
\nat the British Council on Jan. 15, 2003,\" Council marketing and
\ncommunications manager Simon Giverin said over the weekend.<\/p>\n
He made the announcement after a breaking of the fast function
\nat the British Council, also attended by a number of educators in
\nJakarta.<\/p>\n
The entrants must be 16 years to 18 years of age on February
\n28, 2003, Giverin said.<\/p>\n
\"In the video, the students should tell us whom they are,
\nwhere they are from, what they are thinking of studying, why an
\neducation in the UK would benefit them and what they honestly
\nthink of the UK,\" he said, adding that the duration of films
\nshould be no more than three minutes.<\/p>\n
Giverin said each entrant was allowed to submit only one
\nvideotape to the competition. All entrants would have to obtain
\nwritten consent to enter the competition from their parents and
\nschool principal or teachers.<\/p>\n
The two winners will travel to the UK, departing on March 15,
\n2003 and returning on March 31, 2003, he said. --Antara<\/p>",
