British bomber expected<\/p>\n
JAKARTA: A replica of an old British-made 1918's Vickers Vimy
\nbomber will be making a stopover in six Indonesian cities,
\nincluding Jakarta, on its nostalgic trip from Middlesex in
\nBritain to Darwin in Australia.<\/p>\n
The plane is scheduled to arrive at Halim Perdanakusuma
\nairport in Jakarta on Sunday. The other five Indonesian stops
\nwill be Semarang, Surabaya, Denpasar, Mataram and Kupang before
\nit makes the last dash towards Darwin.<\/p>\n
The flight, sponsored by the multinational oil giant Shell and
\nthe National Geographic Society, is retracing the successful
\njourney made by the bomber 75 years ago.<\/p>\n
The plane, with registration number G-EAOU, will complete the
\njourney in 27 days, stopping at 29 cities in 17 countries in
\nEurope, Africa, Asia and Australia. It is being flown by brothers
\nRoss and Keith Smith.<\/p>\n
The replica bomber will be flown by Peter McMillan, an
\nAmerican citizen, and Lang Kidby, an Australian, the Antara news
