        "content": "<p>British Aerospace to help Malaysia<\/p>\n<p>KUALA LUMPUR (AFP): British Aerospace plc (BAe) boosted its<br>\npresence in Malaysia yesterday when it teamed up with a British<br>\nuniversity and a Malaysian company to set up a science and<br>\nengineering university here.<\/p>\n<p>BAe, Britain's biggest defense conglomerate, sold 28 Hawk<br>\ncombat aircraft to Malaysia for 2.4 billion ringgit (US$960<br>\nmillion) in 1988 and has also shown an interest in making<br>\ncomponents locally.<\/p>\n<p>The proposed university, costing 400 million ringgit ($160<br>\nmillion), will offer courses in car-manufacturing technology,<br>\ncivil, mechanical and chemical engineering, human resource<br>\ndevelopment and management.<\/p>\n<p>The memorandum of understanding was signed by BAe chief<br>\nexecutive officer Dick Evans, Talam Corp. Bhd. chairman Chan Ah<br>\nChye and a representative of Loughborough University of<br>\nTechnology, Bernama news agency said.<\/p>",
