        "content": "<p>London (ANTARA) - British police are reviewing information regarding\nprivate flights in and out of Stansted Airport, London, following the\nrelease of files related to the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey\nEpstein by the United States Department of Justice.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are assessing information that has emerged regarding private\nflights to and from Stansted Airport following the publication of the\nEpstein files by the US Department of Justice,\u201d said an Essex Police\nspokesperson in a statement reported on Tuesday (17\/2).<\/p>\n<p>The BBC reported that although police are reviewing the information,\nit may not necessarily lead to a full investigation.<\/p>\n<p>In December, a BBC investigation found that 87 flights linked to\nEpstein arrived at or departed from airports in Britain between the\nearly 1990s and 2018.<\/p>\n<p>The police announcement came after former British Prime Minister\nGordon Brown stated that the documents showed how Epstein was able to\nuse the aviation hub in Essex to \u201cfly girls from Latvia, Lithuania, and\nRussia.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Last week, Brown wrote in the New Statesman that police needed to\nurgently review whether Epstein\u2019s victims were trafficked within or\noutside Britain.<\/p>\n<p>Brown also sent letters to police chiefs and the commissioners of the\nMetropolitan, Essex, and Thames Valley police forces.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll private aircraft at London Stansted operate through independent\nfixed-base operators, which handle all aspects of private and corporate\naviation in accordance with regulatory requirements,\u201d Stansted Airport\nsaid in a statement quoted by the BBC.<\/p>\n<p>The airport stressed that the terminals were \u201centirely independent\u201d\nand that \u201cno private jet passengers enter the main airport\nterminal.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe airport does not manage or have access to passenger arrangements\non privately operated aircraft,\u201d it added.<\/p>\n<p>On 30 January, the US Department of Justice released more than 3\nmillion pages of documents, 2,000 videos, and 180,000 images under the\nEpstein Files Transparency Act, which was signed into law last\nNovember.<\/p>\n<p>The material includes grand jury transcripts and investigation\nrecords, although many pages remain redacted.<\/p>\n<p>Survivors and families of Epstein\u2019s victims stated that the release\ndid not meet the requirements of the legislation and still omitted\nsignificant information.<\/p>\n<p>Epstein was found dead by suicide in a New York City prison in 2019\nwhilst awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking charges involving\nunderage girls.<\/p>",
