        "content": "<p>Britain-and U.S. expands travel warning for Indonesia<\/p>\n<p>Agencies, Washington\/London<\/p>\n<p>The United States and Britain on Monday expanded their warning<br>\nto their citizens about terrorist threats in Indonesia, saying<br>\nthat attacks may be imminent and adding resorts to a list of<br>\npotential targets.<\/p>\n<p>The U.S. embassy in Jakarta said U.S. citizens should be<br>\n&quot;particularly vigilant in the immediate future&quot; and reminded them<br>\nthat threats in Indonesia continued to exist outside the capital<br>\nand tourist locations on the island of Bali, the site of a deadly<br>\nbombing on Oct. 12.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;Americans should avoid large gatherings and locations known<br>\nto cater to a foreign clientele, including but not limited to<br>\nresorts, tourist sights, nightclubs, bars, restaurants and places<br>\nof worship,&quot; it said in a notice to U.S. citizens in Indonesia.<\/p>\n<p>Monday&apos;s warning said that a threat of attack -- first<br>\nmentioned by the embassy on Sept. 19 -- also remained in<br>\nYogyakarta, in Central Java and other areas in the vicinity.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Foreign Secretary Jack Straw told the parliament in<br>\nLondon: &quot;In the light of additional intelligence assessed this<br>\nmorning, I am strengthening the travel advice still further by<br>\ngiving additional warnings about threats to UK nationals at<br>\nspecific locations in Indonesia.&quot;<\/p>\n<p>Britain&apos;s new caution listed Bali, Jakarta, Balikpapan,<br>\nSurabaya and Yogyakarta as particularly dangerous for Britons and<br>\nsaid the Jakarta suburbs of Kota, Jl. Hayam Wuruk, Taman Anggrek,<br>\nPasar Baru and Pasar Senen should be avoided at all costs.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;Further attacks cannot be ruled out,&quot; Straw said.<\/p>\n<p>The flurry of new warnings for Indonesia follows the Oct. 12<br>\nbombing of two tourist bars in Bali, that killed at least 184<br>\npeople, mostly foreigners, and injured more than 300.<\/p>\n<p>The American death toll in the Bali bomb attack is believed to<br>\nhave reached seven, with two identified and five others<br>\nunidentified but presumed dead, a U.S consular official said<br>\nMonday.<\/p>\n<p>However, Thomas C. Daniels said that figure could go higher,<br>\nsince 45 Americans are listed as missing since the Oct. 12 blast.<\/p>\n<p>Eleven Britons are confirmed dead with another 22 missing<br>\npresumed killed in the nightclub blast.<\/p>\n<p>Australians are believed to top the lists of the victims of<br>\nthe Bali bombs.<\/p>\n<p>On Sunday, Australia issued a new travel warning on Indonesia<br>\nfor the fourth time.<\/p>\n<p>In this latest report, the Australian Foreign Ministry added<br>\nresorts outside major cities and historical and cultural<br>\nlocations including Borobudur to the list of areas to be avoided.<\/p>",
