        "content": "<p>The National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) is developing\nartificial graphite from coal waste for battery raw materials in an\neffort to support the electric vehicle (EV) ecosystem in the\ncountry.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn the upstream sector of future materials, BRIN is developing 5V\nLi-ion batteries and producing artificial graphite from coal waste,\u201d\nsaid BRIN Head Arif Satria to ANTARA in Jakarta on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>Arif noted that the artificial graphite under development has a\nstructural conformity level of 96.8 percent.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBRIN is also refining a hybrid conversion system (combining petrol\nengines, electric motors and controllers) that has the potential to save\n20-40 percent of fuel oil, as well as electric motorcycle conversions\nthat utilise existing motorcycle frames at a far more affordable cost,\u201d\nsaid Arif Satria.<\/p>\n<p>President Prabowo Subianto previously announced that the government\nwill provide incentives for one million electric motorcycles produced\ndomestically by Indonesian companies, as part of accelerating the\nelectrification of public mobility.<\/p>\n<p>He said the electric motorcycle production incentive has three\nobjectives: lowering vehicle costs for the public, reducing imported\nfuel consumption, and expanding the national electric motorcycle\nindustry along with its supply chain of batteries, components, software\nand after-sales services.<\/p>\n<p>President Prabowo also noted that Indonesia already possesses nearly\nall the elements required in the electric vehicle battery supply\nchain.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe will provide substantial incentives for those who can build one\nmillion electric motorcycles produced domestically by Indonesian\ncompanies,\u201d said Prabowo during the Government\u2019s Introductory Statement\non the Draft Law on the 2027 State Budget and Financial Note on Friday\n(14\/8).<\/p>",
