        "content": "<p>Jakarta (ANTARA) - Deputy Head of the National Research and\nInnovation Agency (BRIN), Amarulla Octavian, has highlighted the need to\nevaluate the implementation of new technologies in various contexts of\nglobal agricultural systems, particularly in addressing the challenges\nof climate change.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are moving closer towards the reality of our mission, which is to\nbridge the gap between scientific knowledge and actionable policies,\nwhile generating measurable social and economic impacts,\u201d Amarulla\nstated in a press release in Jakarta on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>To this end, BRIN has officially joined the partnership of the United\nNations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) Livestock Environmental\nAssessment and Performance (LEAP) Partnership.<\/p>\n<p>Amarulla assessed this as an important milestone that strengthens the\nuse of transparent and globally standardised science-based metrics in\nmeasuring the environmental footprint of livestock supply chains.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis commitment will enhance accountability and harmonisation in\nmeasuring the environmental impact of the livestock sector,\u201d he\ncontinued.<\/p>\n<p>Looking ahead, he hopes that the collaboration built within this\nforum will not stop at meetings alone, but will continue into concrete\npartnerships that can drive resilient and climate-smart food\nsystems.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe want a future where smallholder farmers have access to technology\nand resources to thrive, as well as food systems capable of withstanding\nthe pressures of climate change,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Amarulla emphasised the importance of global cooperation in\ntransforming the livestock industry into a system that not only meets\nthe world\u2019s food needs but also preserves the environment for future\ngenerations.<\/p>",
