        "content": "<p>Jakarta (ANTARA) - The National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN)\nis developing waste processing technology from household to urban scales\nto support the acceleration of national waste management.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBRIN provides four levels of waste technology, from household,\nvillage, sub-district to urban,\u201d said BRIN Head Arif Satria at Graha\nMandiri, Jakarta, on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, one technology developed for households is a small\ncomposter named Lasamor, used to process organic waste into compost.<\/p>\n<p>Arif said the technology has a relatively affordable price and is\neasy for the public to implement.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe one for houses is under Rp1 million. The technology is cheap and\neasy,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, BRIN is also developing fast pyrolysis technology\n(Faspol) to process plastic waste into fuel for fishermen.<\/p>\n<p>He said the fuel from plastic waste processing has been trialled on\nfishing boats in Jepara and meets the standards of the Oil and Earth Gas\nAgency.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNow many fishermen are using it because the price is cheap, around\nRp10,000 per litre compared to diesel at Rp13,000,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, Faspol technology is currently implemented in 84\ndistricts with small-scale processing capacity.<\/p>\n<p>Arif explained that one kilogram (kg) of plastic waste can be\nprocessed into about one litre of fuel.<\/p>\n<p>BRIN is also developing medium-scale waste processing technology at\nthe Integrated Waste Processing Site (TPST) Bantar Gebang with a\ncapacity of around 50 tons per day.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, the technology will continue to be developed to\nprocess up to 100 tons per day to support larger-scale waste\nprocessing.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf 100 tons is needed, BRIN has the technology,\u201d Arif revealed.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to waste processing, BRIN is also developing waste\nsorting and cleaning technology in rivers through the use of\nwaste-cleaning vessels.<\/p>\n<p>Arif said the technology is used to accelerate the lifting of waste\nin rivers before further processing.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the government, together with the Investment Management\nAgency (BPI) Daya Anagata Nusantara (Danantara) and several regional\ngovernments, signed an agreement on Monday to accelerate the\nconstruction of waste-to-electricity energy processing (PSEL) in six\nlocations.<\/p>\n<p>The government targets the construction of PSEL in 25 locations\ncovering 62 districts\/cities with waste emergency conditions or waste\naccumulation above 1,000 tons per day.<\/p>\n<p>The programme is implemented based on Presidential Regulation No.\u00a0109\nof 2025 on the acceleration of waste-to-electricity energy processing\nconstruction based on environmentally friendly technology.<\/p>",
