        "content": "<p>Jakarta (ANTARA) - The National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN)\nand the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology\n(Kemdiktisaintek) are preparing Indonesia\u2019s 2045 research roadmap as\nwell as a research agenda up to 2029. \u201cWe have agreed on Indonesia\u2019s\nresearch roadmap, which, God willing, we may launch next week. One book\non Indonesia\u2019s 2045 research roadmap, and another on the research agenda\nup to 2029,\u201d said BRIN Head Arif Satria in a statement in Jakarta on\nTuesday. Arif stated that both documents will serve as joint references\nin the development of national research. In the development of national\nresearch, he assessed that basic research and applied research do not\nneed to be pitted against each other, but must proceed side by side.\nAccording to him, the role of the state is still important in promoting\nresearch, especially because the capacity for research and development\n(R&amp;D) in Indonesian industry is still limited. Therefore, the state\nis present to strengthen research, both for current needs and the long\nterm. In addition, he conveyed that BRIN positions itself as an\ninstitution that conducts forward technology forecasting. \u201cWe must\nimagine what technologies will develop in 2035,\u201d he said.
