Brimob gunned down in brawl<\/p>\n
JAYAPURA, Irian Jaya: A police Mobile Brigade (Brimob) officer
\nwas shot dead using his own rifle early on Thursday after he
\nattempted to break up a brawl involving six local youths in Asiki
\ndistrict, Jayapura.<\/p>\n
Irian Jaya provincial police deputy chief Brig. Gen.
\nMoersitodarno identified the deceased officer as Second Brig.
\nDani Pamungkas.<\/p>\n
Moersitodarno said police arrested two youths, identified as
\nTheodorus Aitokok and Cosmos Kapeng, several hours after the
\nshooting.<\/p>\n
Dani's gun, an AK-47 rifle, was also recovered in the arrest.<\/p>\n
Four other youths have also been identified as suspects but
\nremain at large.<\/p>\n
According to Moersitodarno, Dani had been posted near the site
\nof the brawl when he heard about the fighting youths.<\/p>\n
Arriving on the scene Dani grabbed one of the youths. But the
\nothers then turned on him.<\/p>\n
Dani was mobbed and his AK-47 was snatched by one of the
\nyouths. In the tussle Dani was shot and died instantly, Antara
\nreported.<\/p>",
