Brigadier Renita Rismayanti has been named a recipient of the 2026\nHoegeng Innovative Police Awards. Renita implemented significant\ninnovations in criminal data management during her deployment with the\nUnited Nations Police (UNPOL) as part of the UN peacekeeping mission in\nthe Central African Republic.<\/p>\n
The Hoegeng Awards 2026 ceremony took place at The Tribrata\nDarmawangsa, South Jakarta, on Friday (31\/7\/2026). The event was\nattended by the Chief of the Indonesian National Police, General Listyo\nSigit Prabowo, and CT Corp Chairman, Chairul Tanjung, alongside various\nministers and heads of state institutions.<\/p>\n
The selection process for the 2026 awards involved a panel of five\nexperts from various sectors of society, including representatives from\nthe Gusdurian Indonesia Network, Komnas HAM, the KPK, Kompolnas, and the\nHouse of Representatives (DPR).<\/p>\n
As a member of the Indonesian National Police International Relations\nDivision, Renita served as a Crime Database Officer for the MINUSCA\nmission between 202lar 2024. Upon her arrival in the Central African\nRepublic, she noted the stark difference in security conditions compared\nto Indonesia, facing a landscape marked by ongoing conflict.<\/p>\n
During her tenure, Renita identified that criminal case recording was\nstill being conducted manually. She was tasked with digitising this data\nto ensure it could be linked directly to UNPOL Headquarters. This led to\nthe development of the UNPOL Case Management platform, which allowed for\nthe rapid generation of real-time statistics for mission leadership.<\/p>\n
Beyond UNPOL data, Brigadier Renita also managed the migration of\ncriminal databases for the local Central African police force. At the\ntime, many criminals remained at large due to a lack of recorded data.\nShe spearheaded a major project to install a database for local police,\nwhich had previously lacked any criminal record system. Furthermore, she\ndeveloped \u2018hot spot maps\u2019 to identify high-crime areas, assisting UN\npersonnel in planning more effective patrols.<\/p>\n
Inspector Sugiandono, who served as the Head of the Criminal Analysis\nDatabase Unit and was Renita\u2019s superior during the MINUSCA mission,\npraised her innovation as a breakthrough. He noted that the database\nmigration provided significant strategic contributions to both the UN\nmission and the local security sector in the Central African\nRepublic.<\/p>\n
Inspector Sugi highlighted that Renita\u2019s role was instrumental in the\ndigitalisation of criminal case databases for both MINUSCA and the local\npolice. He emphasised that she was not merely a participant but a vocal\ninitiator in the project.
