        "content": "<p>Semarang (ANTARA) - The Central Java Provincial Regional Research and\nInnovation Agency (BRIDA) states that the results of the 2025 Regional\nCompetitiveness Index (IDSD) measurement released by the National\nResearch and Innovation Agency (BRIN) show that several districts and\ncities in the province rank among Indonesia\u2019s most advanced regions.<\/p>\n<p>Head of the Central Java Regional Research and Innovation Agency\n(BRIDA), Mohamad Arief Irwanto, in a written statement in Semarang on\nMonday, revealed that this achievement indicates Central Java\u2019s\ncompetitiveness is far above the national average. Nationally, the\ncompetitiveness index is recorded at 3.50, while Central Java has\nreached 3.87.<\/p>\n<p>Several regions have recorded outstanding performances. Surakarta\nCity is the highest with a score of 4.43, followed by Semarang City at\n4.37, and Magelang City at 4.29. This achievement places these areas in\nthe category of Indonesia\u2019s most advanced cities.<\/p>\n<p>Not only cities, but several districts also show high\ncompetitiveness. Semarang Regency scores 4.03, Klaten Regency 3.86, and\nKaranganyar Regency and Jepara Regency each 3.85.<\/p>\n<p>Arief explained that the IDSD measurement is conducted through 12\nmain pillars, covering aspects such as institutions, infrastructure,\nadoption of information and communication technology (ICT), and\nmacroeconomic stability. In addition, other indicators measured include\nhealth, workforce skills, product markets, labour markets, financial\nsystems, market size, business dynamism, and innovation capability.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, Central Java\u2019s main strengths lie in the market and\nlabour sectors. High labour absorption and low unemployment rates are\nkey factors driving regional competitiveness.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLabour absorption in Central Java is quite high, thus impacting\neconomic stability and people\u2019s purchasing power,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n<p>Compared to other regions in Java-Bali, Central Java also excels in\nsupporting environment components and innovation ecosystems.\nAdditionally, strengths in institutional pillars, market size, and\ninnovation capability further reinforce the province\u2019s position.<\/p>\n<p>The development of industrial zones in various regions has also\nbecome a significant driving factor. In addition to opening new job\nopportunities, the expansion of industrial zones broadens market access\nand drives local economic growth.<\/p>\n<p>According to Arief, under the leadership of Governor Ahmad Luthfi and\nDeputy Governor Taj Yasin Maimoen, the acceleration of Central Java\u2019s\neconomic development is deemed increasingly focused and directly impacts\nthe enhancement of regional competitiveness.<\/p>\n<p>With this achievement, Central Java is assessed to still have great\nopportunities to continue developing and strengthening its position as\none of the provinces with the best competitiveness in Indonesia.<\/p>",
