PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) has disbursed Rp 17.13 trillion in subsidised housing loans (KPRS) to over 125,000 low-income debtors by March 2026, enhancing access to affordable housing and stimulating economic activity in various regions. Supported by government policies under President Prabowo Subianto's 3 million homes programme, the initiative includes interest subsidies of 5.5% to 10% for up to five years, funded through the state budget. This effort not only promotes inclusive home ownership beyond urban centres but also fosters opportunities for small and medium enterprises around new housing developments, contributing to broader economic growth.

JAKARTA — PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk has recorded the
disbursement of Subsidised Home Ownership Credit (KPRS) amounting to Rp
17.13 trillion to more than 125,000 debtors up to March 2026. This
financing not only expands housing access for low-income communities
(MBR) but also drives economic activity in various regions.

BRI’s Consumer Banking Director, Aris Hartanto, stated that KPRS
disbursements will continue to be increased in line with the company’s
commitment to providing decent and affordable housing.

“BRI will continue to optimise housing finance disbursements to reach
more communities in various regions,” he said in a written statement on
Monday (13/4/2026).

In the context of equity, BRI’s extensive network serves as an
important foundation for expanding the reach of housing finance to
various areas.

With this infrastructure, BRI aims to make home ownership access for
MBR increasingly inclusive, not only concentrated in major cities but
also reaching regions that have previously had limited financing
access.

On the other hand, new economic activities also emerge through
business opportunities for small and medium enterprises (UMKM) around
housing areas.

“Housing finance plays an important role in improving welfare while
driving economic activity in various regions,” he said.

Through this role, BRI not only acts as a financing provider but also
contributes to expanding sustainable home ownership access.

With a combination of access expansion and multiplier economic
effects, housing finance is considered one of the important instruments
in driving more inclusive growth.

On the other hand, the disbursement of subsidised mortgages is also
supported by government policies through interest subsidies or credit
margin subsidies. The government sets the subsidy amount between 5.5 per
cent and 10 per cent per year, depending on the credit ceiling applied
for by the debtor.

This policy is stipulated in Minister of Finance Regulation (PMK)
No. 65/2025 on the Procedures for Implementing Interest Subsidy/Credit
Margin Subsidy Activities for the Housing Programme.

The regulation was issued to support President Prabowo Subianto’s 3
million homes programme, with all subsidies covered by the State Revenue
and Expenditure Budget (APBN).

In detail, for credit ceilings above Rp 10 million up to Rp 100
million, the interest subsidy is set at 10 per cent. Meanwhile, for
ceilings above Rp 100 million up to Rp 500 million, the subsidy is 5.5
per cent.

The subsidy provision period is a maximum of five years. After that
period ends, debtors no longer receive interest subsidies if the credit
is still ongoing.

With this scheme, the government seeks to maintain the affordability
of instalments for low-income communities (MBR), while strengthening the
driving force of the subsidised mortgage programme disbursed by banks,
including BRI.
",
