Breathing gurus start teaching<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): Two Shanghai-based breathing exercise experts
\nyesterday began a three day program to teach around 400
\nIndonesian tai chi trainers how to do the exercises properly.<\/p>\n
Their visit is part of the realization of a memorandum of
\nunderstanding on sports cooperation signed on Nov. 24 last year
\nbetween the Indonesian Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports and
\nChina's Commission for Physical Culture and Sports.<\/p>\n
The Chinese art of breathing exercises coupled with other
\nexercises become a popular public morning exercise in Indonesia
\nin the 1980s and has since become known as Senam Tera Indonesia
\nand Senam Pernapasan Indonesia.<\/p>\n
Since then, groups practicing the exercises have mushroomed in
\nIndonesia. Some have developed incorrect breathing techniques
\nwhile exercising, which the visiting experts are expected to
