US President Donald Trump is considering resuming air strikes because\ntalks with Iran have stalled. This is the latest update on the US-Iran\nwar, as reported by the American website Axios on Monday.<\/p>\n
The report quotes three US officials familiar with the matter. On\nSunday, Trump rejected Iran\u2019s latest peace proposal terms, calling them\n\u201ccompletely unacceptable\u201d and stating that \u201cthe ceasefire reached about\na month ago is in very critical condition\u201d.<\/p>\n
According to Axios, Trump will meet with his national security team\nto discuss next steps, including the possibility of resuming Project\nFreedom. This operation aims to guide ships through the Strait of\nHormuz.<\/p>\n
Additionally, he is considering restarting air strikes, including\ntargeting 25% of the remaining sites identified by the Pentagon but not\nyet attacked.<\/p>\n
This report comes as the Washington Post also published a report\nciting a CIA assessment. It states that Iran retains about 75% of its\npre-war mobile launchers and 70% of its missiles, and could withstand a\nUS naval blockade for at least three to four months.<\/p>\n
It should be noted that Trump suspended Project Freedom within 24\nhours of announcing it last week. This followed a request from Pakistan,\nwhich has acted as a mediator in the conflict.<\/p>\n
