        "content": "<p>JAKARTA \u2014 PT Brantas Abipraya (Persero) has certified approximately\n300 construction workers involved in the Lampung People\u2019s School project\nto meet the demand for skilled labour for the government\u2019s priority\ninitiative. The certification, conducted in collaboration with the South\nSumatra Regional Construction Services Agency (BJKW II Palembang) under\nthe Ministry of Public Works, took place on-site at the project location\non 21 May 2026. The programme covers certification for strategic\nconstruction workers at levels 1 to 3, aiming to enhance their\ncapabilities and competencies in line with the National Work Competency\nStandards (SKKNI). \u201cBrantas Abipraya believes that the success of\nconstruction is not only determined by material quality and construction\ntechnology, but also by the competence of the workforce on the ground.\nTherefore, we fully support the implementation of this construction\nworker certification as part of our commitment to delivering\nhigh-quality, safe, and sustainable development,\u201d said Dian in a written\nstatement on Monday, 1 June 2026. Dian added that the People\u2019s School\nproject has a significant social impact, necessitating workers with\ncompetencies in line with national standards. Meanwhile, Acting Director\nGeneral of Construction Development at the Ministry of Public Works,\nIndro Pantja Pramodo, stated that the construction sector plays a\nstrategic role in the national economy, contributing 10.96% to GDP and\nemploying approximately 8.5 million workers. \u201cTherefore, strengthening\nconstruction workers\u2019 competencies is crucial to ensure national\ninfrastructure is built to the highest quality,\u201d said Indro. Indro added\nthat the People\u2019s School project is part of the government\u2019s priority\nagenda to enhance Indonesia\u2019s human resource quality. He noted that\ncertification is not merely an administrative requirement but also a\nquality assurance for the built infrastructure. According to Ministry of\nPublic Works data, infrastructure development in 2026 is projected to\nrequire approximately 37,356 construction workers, comprising 754\nexperts, 2,676 technicians, and 33,926 operators. Specifically for\nstrategic infrastructure sectors, including the People\u2019s School project,\naround 13,522 construction workers are projected to be needed.<\/p>",
