        "content": "<p>JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) states that\nthe national average price of shallots rose by 4.27% in the fourth week\nof April compared to last March.<\/p>\n<p>BPS Deputy for Distribution and Services, Ateng Hartono, said that in\nhundreds of regions, shallots are sold above the Consumer Reference\nSelling Price (HAP) of Rp 41,500 per kilogram.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn the fourth week of April, it is above the reference selling price\nor HAP, with the current price at Rp 43,998, whereas the HAP is Rp\n41,500,\u201d Ateng said during the Inflation Control Coordination Meeting at\nthe Ministry of Home Affairs on Monday (27\/4\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt experienced an increase of 4.27% compared to last March,\u201d he\nadded.<\/p>\n<p>Ateng suggested that the price increase of shallots in several\nregions must be monitored because it is considered quite high.<\/p>\n<p>In Kubu Raya Regency, West Kalimantan, for example, shallots are sold\n9.45% above the HAP;<\/p>\n<p>Gunung Mas in Central Kalimantan rose 44.37%.<\/p>\n<p>Then, in Sleman Regency, Yogyakarta, shallots are sold 11.22% above\nthe HAP.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSupiori Regency has prices for shallots up to Rp 80,000 or 92.77%\nabove its HAP,\u201d Ateng stated.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to shallots, BPS also reported that granulated sugar\nexperienced an average increase of 1.5% in the fourth week of April with\na price of Rp 18,765 per kilogram.<\/p>\n<p>The HAP at the consumer level is Rp 17,500 and Rp 18,500 in Maluku,\nNorth Maluku, Papua, West Papua, Central Papua, South Papua, Southwest\nPapua, and underdeveloped, outermost, and frontier (3T) regions as well\nas border areas.<\/p>\n<p>According to Ateng, the number of regions experiencing price\nincreases for granulated sugar is also quite large, reaching 51% of the\ncountry\u2019s territory.<\/p>\n<p>BPS also monitors that there are 185 regencies\/cities with quite high\nIPH and sold above HAP.<\/p>\n<p>In South Barito, for example, granulated sugar is sold 11.03% above\nHAP; Tolikara Regency 86.5% above HAP; and South Hulu Sungai and Pulau\nPisau reaching 10 to 13% above HAP.<\/p>",
