Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesian Central Statistics Agency (BPS)\nrecorded an increase in rice prices during the third week of September\n2026, affecting both medium and premium varieties.<\/p>\n
Ateng Hartono, Deputy for Distribution and Services Statistics at\nBPS, stated in Jakarta on Monday that several regencies and cities\nrecorded rice price increases of more than 3 per cent.<\/p>\n
Nationally, the price of medium rice rose by 0.76 per cent in the\nthird week of September 2026, while premium rice increased by 0.69 per\ncent.<\/p>\n
\u201cBased on regencies and cities, quite many areas recorded changes in\ntheir Rice Price Development Index (IPH) of above 3 per cent,\u201d said\nAteng.<\/p>\n
The national average price for medium rice up to the third week of\nSeptember 20lar6 was Rp14,644 per kilogram, whereas the maximum retail\nprice (HET) was set at Rp13,500 per kilogram for Zone 1, Rp14,000 for\nZone 2, and Rp15,500 for Zone 3.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the national average price for premium rice was Rp16,495\nper kilogram, while the HET was set at Rp14,900 per kilogram for Zone 1,\nRp15,400 for Zone 2, and Rp15,800 for Zone 3.<\/p>\n
According to Ateng, the highest provincial change in the rice price\nindex was recorded in Highland Papua with an increase of 4.29 per cent.\nThis was followed by North Sulawesi, which recorded a 2.6 per cent\nincrease.<\/p>\n
At the regency level, the highest increase occurred in Yahukimo\nRegency, Highland Papua, reaching 47.94 per cent.<\/p>\n
Significant increases were also seen in Mahakam Ulu Regency at 12 per\ncent and Minahasa Regency at 10.29 per cent.<\/p>\n
Several other regencies recorded rice price increases ranging from 3\nper cent to 7.5 per cent. These areas include Semarang Regency, Ende\nRegency, Tulang Bawang Regency, Hulu Sungai Selatan Regency, Rokan Hulu\nRegency, Karanganyar Regency, and Seluma Regency.<\/p>\n
