This figure represents a decrease of 1.51 percentage\npoints compared to June 2026, which had reached 54.23%.<\/p>\n<p>The Acting Head of BPS East Java, Herum Fajarwati, explained that the\nTPK is a primary indicator reflecting the productivity of the\naccommodation services industry. The decline in July 20lar 2026 was\ndriven by falling occupancy in 3-star and 4-star hotel classes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe decrease in TPK in July 2026 was influenced by declines in the\n3-star and 4-star hotel classes, which fell by 2.75 and 2.37 percentage\npoints, respectively,\u201d Herum stated during a press conference in\nSurabaya on Monday (1\/9).<\/p>\n<p>Technically, the TPK figure of 52.72% indicates that for every 100\navailable rooms in star-rated hotels across East Java, an average of 52\nto 53 rooms are sold each night. Despite the general decline, certain\nhotel classes actually recorded increases, namely 1-star hotels (up 6.75\npoints), 2-star hotels (up 0.47 points), and 5-star hotels (up 2.83\npoints).<\/p>\n<p>A similar trend occurred in the non-star accommodation sector. The\nTPK for non-star hotels in July 2026 was recorded at 23.85%, a decrease\nof 2.08 points compared to the June 2026 achievement of 25.93%.<\/p>\n<p>By region, Tulungagung Regency recorded the highest star-rated hotel\nTPK in East Java at 68.91%, followed by Mojokerto City (65.01%) and\nGresik Regency (61.55%). Conversely, the lowest TPK rates were found in\nTrenggalek Regency (16.51%), Blitar City (33.64%), and Pasuruan Regency\n(35.64%).<\/p>\n<p>Herum added that high occupancy in certain areas is influenced by\nstrategic locations near business centres, tourist destinations, and\ntransport facilities. Additionally, large-scale activities such as\nconferences and festivals, alongside effective digital promotions, serve\nas key factors in attracting guests.<\/p>",
