This figure is higher than the 3.09 percent\nrecorded in May 2026 on a year-on-year basis. Deputy for Distribution\nand Services Statistics at BPS, Ateng Hartono, stated that the Consumer\nPrice Index rose to 111.89 in June 2026 from 108.27 in June 2025. \u201cIf we\nexamine it by expenditure group, the year-on-year inflation was mainly\ndriven by three groups,\u201d he said during a press conference on Wednesday,\n1 July 2026. Ateng detailed that these three groups were food,\nbeverages, and tobacco with inflation of 4.67 percent; personal care and\nother services with inflation of 10.10 percent; and transport with\ninflation of 4.57 percent. On an annual basis, the Central Statistics\nAgency recorded core inflation at 2.76 percent with a contribution of\n1.77 percent. The administered prices component experienced inflation of\n3.42 percent with a contribution of 0.66 percent, while the volatile\nprices component saw inflation of 5.58 percent with a contribution of\n0.91 percent. Meanwhile, monthly inflation for June 2026 reached 0.44\npercent, higher than the 0.28 percent recorded in May 2026 on a\nmonth-to-month basis. According to Ateng, the expenditure group\ncontributing the most to monthly inflation was transport, with inflation\nof 2.29 percent and a contribution of 0.28 percent. \u201cThe dominant\ncommodities driving transport group inflation were petrol with a\ncontribution of 0.21 percent, airfares with a contribution of 0.05\npercent, and engine lubricant or oil with a contribution of 0.01\npercent,\u201d he said.<\/p>",
