        "content": "<p>Statistics Indonesia (BPS) has said that the change to the 2025\nIndonesian Standard Industrial Classification (KBLI) forms part of a\nperiodic update of the classification of economic activities.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEssentially, we are classifying so that the KBLI codes are tidy,\nenabling the government and BPS to better calculate economic potential.\nThere is absolutely no intention on the part of the Government to burden\nthe business world. We genuinely want to tidy things up,\u201d said BPS head\nAmalia Adininggar Widyasanti in a joint statement with the Indonesian\nLogistics and Forwarders Association (ALFI) in Jakarta on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>She also stressed that the KBLI changes were drawn up with reference\nto the global classification standard, the International Standard\nIndustrial Classification of All Economic Activities (ISIC), compiled by\nthe United Nations Statistics Division (UNSD).<\/p>\n<p>According to Amalia, the KBLI is updated every five years to align\nIndonesia\u2019s economic activity classification with global economic\ndevelopments.<\/p>\n<p>The update, she continued, is needed to accommodate various changes,\nfrom developments in digital technology and the emergence of new\nbusiness models to growing attention to environmental issues and climate\nchange.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe essence is to tidy up the classification so that it is orderly\nand compliant with international standards,\u201d Amalia said.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, she provided certainty to businesses regarding corporate\nadministrative matters. According to her, the implementation of KBLI\n2025 does not require companies to amend their deeds of\nincorporation.<\/p>\n<p>This is because a Joint Circular Letter (SEB) has already been signed\nby the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, the Ministry of Investment and\nDownstreaming, and BPS, confirming that businesses do not need to make\nchanges to their company deeds.<\/p>\n<p>Amalia said a key point of the circular is that old licences already\nissued, verified or approved before KBLI 2025 remain valid.<\/p>",
