The\nincrease in non-subsidised fuel prices in June 2026 contributed\nsignificantly to driving up the inflation rate.<\/p>\n<p>Statistics Indonesia (BPS) recorded that monthly inflation in June\n2026 reached 0.04 per cent month-to-month (mtm). On an annual basis,\ninflation hit 3.34 per cent (yoy), and the calendar year inflation, or\nyear-to-date (ytd), was recorded at 1.79 per cent.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere are several important events that could influence price\nindicators, particularly throughout June 2026. The first is related to\nnon-subsidised fuel, which experienced price changes twice in June\n2026,\u201d said BPS Deputy for Distribution and Services Statistics Ateng\nHartono during a press conference at the BPS Office in Jakarta on\nWednesday (1\/7\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>The two increases in non-subsidised fuel prices occurred on 1 June\n2026 and 10 June 2026. The price of Pertamax Turbo, or Pertamax RON 98,\nrose on 1 June 2026 from Rp 19,900 per litre to Rp 20,750 per litre.\nMeanwhile, the price of Pertamax RON 92 jumped on 10 June 2026 from its\nprevious position of Rp 12,300 per litre to Rp 16,250 per litre.<\/p>\n<p>Ateng detailed that the largest contributor to inflation in June 2026\nwas the transport sector. Inflation in the transport sector in June 2026\nreached 2.29 per cent, contributing 0.28 per cent to the overall\ninflation rate.<\/p>",
