        "content": "<p>The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) has commenced the 2026 Economic\nCensus, which will be conducted from 15 June to 31 August across all\nregions of Indonesia. The public is being asked to participate\nfully.<\/p>\n<p>Deputy Head of BPS, Sonny Harry Budiomo Harmadi, has assured that the\n2026 Economic Census data has no connection to tax matters. Therefore,\nthe public need not be afraid or worried about answering questions from\ncensus officers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt has nothing to do with tax. We guarantee the confidentiality of\nthe data,\u201d Sonny stated in Semarang on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>Consequently, he emphasised that the public is obliged to provide\naccurate data during the census. The 2026 Economic Census is not only\ncollecting data on business actors but also down to the household\nlevel.<\/p>\n<p>Nationally, there are 32 million business actors to be enumerated. In\naddition, he continued, there are 289.3 million individuals from 95.3\nmillion families who are also targets of the census. Sonny explained the\nvital role of the Economic Census data for the Indonesian economy.<\/p>\n<p>He explained that well-targeted development must be supported by\nquality data. According to him, the 8% economic growth target can be\nachieved if the economic structure is thoroughly understood.<\/p>\n<p>He stated that the census data will be beneficial for regional\ngovernments. \u201cThe census data will comprehensively map the conditions of\neach respective region,\u201d he said.<\/p>",
