BPN, Spain's CIMSA sign $22m contract<\/p>\n
JAKARTA: The National Land Affairs Body (BPN) and Spanish
\ncompany CIMSA have signed a commercial contract for the third
\nphase of a land office computerization project that started in
\n1996, according to a release sent by the Embassy of Spain in
\nJakarta on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
BPN chairman Lutfi Nasoetion, Ambassador of Spain to Indonesia
\nDamaso de Lario and CIMSA chief executive officer Javier Ollero
\nwitnessed the signing during a ceremony that took place on
\nTuesday at BPN headquarters in Jakarta.<\/p>\n
The project, which amounts to US$22 million, will be financed
\nwith Spanish funds pledged during the last Consultative Group for
\nIndonesia (CGI) meeting held in Jakarta, according to the
\nembassy.<\/p>\n
The project will introduce all graphical and textual data from
\nthe archives at BPN offices in Jakarta into a computerized
\nsystem.<\/p>\n
CIMSA will also transfer the technology that enables BPN
\ntechnical experts to replicate the system in any other area
\nacross the country.<\/p>\n
In 2002, the embassy said, Spain disbursed $7.31 million to
\nfinance three projects in Indonesia related to education, health
