Because this will also have a significant impact on
minimising violence against women and children,” said Ossy.

He explained that the Ministry of PPPA is expected to first determine
the most suitable location for the programme.

For idle land, its handling falls under the authority of the Ministry
of ATR/BPN.

Meanwhile, for land owned by other institutions such as the TNI,
SOEs, or local governments, certainty of clean and clear status as well
as approval for release from the owner is required before it can be
utilised.

“For land that is not idle land, it must be voluntarily released by
them, then released to the state, and then its utilisation can be given
to the Ministry of PPPA to be handed over to whoever the subject will be
given to. There is also the Land Bank, which may require coordination
with the Land Bank Agency,” explained Ossy.

The KPLP is an initiative to empower women through community-based
food garden management.

Deputy Minister of PPPA Veronica Tan stated that this programme
aligns with the human resource development agenda, including gender
equality and women’s empowerment.

“This Women’s Local Food Garden can serve as a practical learning
platform, from fulfilling nutrition to productive activities. In fact,
it can also become an educational space for children, with women as the
main drivers,” Veronica concluded.
",
