        "content": "<p>Jakarta \u2014 Indonesia\u2019s National Consumer Protection Agency (BPKN) has\nexpressed support for the social media use restriction policy for\nchildren proposed by the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs\n(Komdigi).<\/p>\n<p>BPKN Chairman Mufti Mubarok characterised the policy as a strategic\nstep in protecting children as digital consumers from various cyber\nrisks.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe BPKN views the social media restriction policy for children as\nan important preventive measure. Children need protection from the\nnegative effects of excessive digital technology use, including risks to\nmental health, exposure to age-inappropriate content, and misuse of\npersonal data,\u201d Mufti said in a statement in Jakarta on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>Age-inappropriate content exposure, potential device addiction, and\npersonal data exploitation risks are key concerns in consumer protection\nin the digital era.
