        "content": "<p>Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Audit Board of Indonesia (BPK) has\nstrengthened cooperation to promote accountability and sustainable\ndevelopment by attending the 5th BRICS Supreme Audit Institution (SAI)\nLeaders\u2019 Summit 2026. The summit adopted the Bengaluru Declaration,\nrepresenting a shared commitment among SAIs to enhance accountability\nwithin urban mobility systems through integrated, citizen-centric, and\ntechnology-based auditing approaches, while also agreeing upon the BRICS\nSAIs Work Plan for 2027-2028.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement in Jakarta on Monday, the Chairperson of the BPK, Isma\nYatun, emphasised the vital role of SAIs in auditing sustainable\ntransport. This is seen as a necessary response to the challenges of\nurbanisation and climate change, aiming to foster global resilience in\nalignment with the 2026 BRICS SAIs theme, \u201cEase of Living with the Focus\non Urban Mobility.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIndonesia has undertaken various efforts to realise sustainable\ntransport, including the integration of mass transit, integrated spatial\nplanning, and the development of a battery-based electric vehicle\necosystem,\u201d she stated. Furthermore, the BPK plays a role in ensuring\naccountability for public investments in the transport sector through\nthe execution of performance audits.<\/p>\n<p>The BPK also presented its experience in auditing sustainable urban\ntransport, highlighting government effectiveness in reducing greenhouse\ngas emissions and improving the efficiency of transport systems.\nAdditionally, the Chairperson of the BPK held bilateral meetings with\nseveral partner SAIs, specifically the SAIs of China and Russia. These\ndiscussions aimed to strengthen bilateral cooperation and bolster global\nSAI support in preparation for the BPK\u2019s Chairmanship of the\nInternational Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI) for\n2028-2031 and the BPK\u2019s membership in the United Nations Board of\nAuditors (UN BoA) for 2026-2032.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe BPK\u2019s participation in this BRICS SAIs Summit is part of our\nefforts to strengthen our institutional role at the international level\nand to encourage collaboration among SAIs to enhance accountability and\ntransparency in the management of state finances,\u201d said Isma Yatun.<\/p>",
