BPK needs new chief<\/p>\n
Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) chairman Anwar Nasution, as shown
\non TV, is enraged with Khairiansyah of the agency, who revealed
\nthe bribery case allegedly involving Mulyana W. Kusumah, a member
\nof the General Elections Commission (KPU).<\/p>\n
Anwar Nasution repeatedly said that what Khairiansyah and his
\ncolleagues did was \"vulgar\", although with the knowledge of his
\nimmediate superior, because it was not the function of the BPK.
\nHe also described them as seeking popularity, with Khairiansyah
\neven dubbed a \"latecomer hero\".<\/p>\n
To people who long for improvement, it would be much better to
\nhave a hero who appears late than a criminal who is beyond
\nremedy.<\/p>\n
Why is such a figure as Anwar Nasution retained as the BPK
\nchairman, while the agency needs honest men like Khairiansyah?<\/p>\n
According to House Commission III member Tri Medya Panjaitan,
\nthere are indications that a deal was made between Anwar Nasution
\nand the KPU chairman in connection with KPU irregularities. If
\nthis is true, Anwar Nasution's fury is to be understood.<\/p>\n
Let us appeal to the government to promptly replace Anwar
\nNasution, who is apparently emotional, arrogant, lacks wisdom and
\nhas a negative track record as a high-ranking public official.<\/p>\n
